Leinie’s Sunset Wheat

042For my birthday, I bought a mixed six-pack from the local grocery store for nine bucks.  Usually I wouldn’t consider one of these since the beers on offer are hardly worth a buck fifty each for the opportunity to make your own six-pack, but this time they had some interesting beers available.

The first beer I drank from my mixed six was Leinie’s Sunset Wheat. Naturally, I was looking closely at the caps when I picked my beers. So closely, in fact, that I didn’t notice that this beer had no label on the bottle.

When I first opened this beer, I was hit by the scent of flowers. That sensation didn’t dissipate when I took my first sip. I immediately thought I was in trouble and had bought a beer from the pixie kingdom. However, as I continued to drink it, the beer revealed a wonderful, estery quality. After sitting with this beer for a few minutes, I really came to enjoy it.

I wouldn’t mind having this beer again, but I don’t think I’d buy it. It has a pleasing, complex flavor, but I’m a pretty simple guy. I do appreciate this beer, and it was an enjoyable drink. Try it if you appreciate a beer you need to think about.

I’ll give this beer 3/5 caps.
